nasi lemak penang
first, it has been listed as the number 1 breakfast for Malaysians. It has a triangular shape and has been wrapped using banana leaf. it is really popular in penang, when i eat this nasi lemak, i feel so excited. it is because i can experience a lot of things when i eat this nasi lemak, start from the taste of the rice that is a little bit milky, the crunchy fried anchovies, chili paste that are indeed hot and also a few slice of cucumber with full of freshness. For me, it will be the best breakfast i ever had. but if you don't get the chances to come to Penang, don't worry you still can eat this nasi lemak since be found in other places since it is really well-known :)
murtabak penang
here come murtabak penang... actually i always carving on it especially during ramadhan. i also don't know why i feel that way. anyway, this murtabak is made up of a mixture of beaten eggs and pre-cooked filling of, minced meat, diced onions and spices. after that, the mixture is poured into the frying pan and lastly it will be topped with a square-shaped roti canai sheet. easy right.. usually it will be serve with pickle onion or curry. so, it depend on your own preference.
a few days ago, when i read about the origin of murtabak surprisingly i found that some believe murtabak originally came from Arab. It is because the word murtabak was came from arabic word "mutabbaq" which means fold.
Last but not least, if you come to Penang you journey will not be completed if you don't eat nasi kandar.
nasi kandar
nasi kandar is truly originated from Penang. when ever you pass through the restaurant that sells nasi kandar, you will be able to smell is aroma. it will eventually attract you to go into the restaurant to eat it. usually, the rice is accompanied by other side dishes for instance fried chicken, curried beef spleen, and some other vegetable. before it ready to be eaten, mixture of curry sauces is poured on the rice.
so, i think that is all for this time. thankyou.. :P
