Dead Letter Office, Parish Mail #1

Celia Jane together with her other family member were at her father funeral. Her father was a corpsman in the navy. One day, her father’s convey was attacked by explosive weapon and resulting her father to die at that moment. Then, her family moved into the New Orleans. When she was at the cemetery she felt so sad. So, she decided to walk for a moment around the cemetery alone. Suddenly, she felt someone stroke her hair. It was a very gentle movement, soft. She turned around expecting it would be either her mom or her other family member. Surprisingly, no one was there.

On one night, she found there was an unusual tree, with trunk pale as bone and wide, spade-shaped leaves a remarkable dark red. There was also the hallow looks sort of like a wooden mailbox hanging off the side of the tree. On Halloween, bizarre supernatural occurred at her. Celia met with a mysterious Luc and found a letter, over a hundred years old, addressed to her. After that Celia learnt that Luc was the restless spirit a young man murdered in 1854. She also found that the letter that addressed to her describe the suspect murder of a man 1870.

With help from Luc, Tilly and Donovan, Celia races to solve the murder and all the mystery of the letter by using both magical and forensic clues.

I would like to recommend this material because I found that this material is a little bit different from the other material that I read before. It is because the author of this story, Kira Snyder combined so many elements in her writing. For instance, she put the element of a family life, friendship, fantasy and even some paranormal element. I think that when all of these elements are being combined harmoniously this material will become a masterpiece. Besides, this material also will increase the imaginary skill of its reader. I as a reader of this material had already experience it. I started to imagine the image of the tree that has trunk pale as bone with the dark red spade-shape leaves. It is something absurd and impossible to be found in this world but it is not impossible to be existed in our mind. Thus, your brain will work creatively to create an appropriate image of something that you never seen before.

I had read one of the quotations from Albert Einstein before this; he stated that the true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination. So, I believe that this material is very suitable to be read by the other people.

SPORT GOOD OR NOT ??

7 February 2015

Some young children spend a great amount of their time practicing sports. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

ADVANTAGES
DISADVANTAGES
-keep the body healthy
-exposed to the injuries during games
-learn the spirit of teamwork
-neglect their study

Nowadays, majority of the teenagers especially the boys loved to spend most of their time practicing sports. It is very good thing that they are still using their time wisely instead of they are joining the activities that will give them a bad impact. But, in my point of view all of these young children need to realize that there are still pros and cons about this matter.

First of all, the advantages of spending a great amount of time practicing sport in their daily live will ensure that their body will be always in a very good condition. It is because scientifically when they are exercising or playing any kind of sports they will be sweating. So, when they are sweating the toxic in their body eventually will be excreted out. Besides, they also will drink a lot of water due to the dehydration. As all of us already know, we are recommended to drink at least eight glasses of plain water per day in order to keep our body healthier. It is because the water can help to maintain our health. For example water is used to clean up our kidney, keep the moisture of our skin and even keep our blood pressure at the normal level. Therefore, all of these young children will get the benefits of drinking the water without they realize about it.

Next, they will also learn the spirit of teamwork through sport. It is because most of the sports are not being played individually. They need to be in the team. Football, rugby and basketball are the examples of sport that are really popular among the youngster and they need to form a team. When they are practicing they need to have a strong chemistry and bond between each of them. This chemistry and strong bond will turn into a very good teamwork among them. They will help and support each other especially when they are in the competition. Thus, it is very beneficial to them to have a very good teamwork. It is because in the future they will need it very much either when they are studying in university or when they are working.

Unfortunately, there are also a bad consequence when they are spending too much of their time to play sport. They will expose themselves to injuries either the minor or the major one. It is because when they are playing the sport they tend to make some mistakes and it will cause them to be injured. For example, if they do not warm up properly they may suffer the cramp due to the accumulation of lactic acid in their muscle. For the major injuries, they may suffer of broken hand or leg. When it happened, they will be hospitalized for a few weeks or months until they recovered. It will be a waste when they need to skip classes.

On top of that, they will neglect their study. Most of the young children have this problem. It is due to the problem of their time management. Some of them will feel tired after they had spent their time to play sport instead of having a leisure time. So, they will fall asleep early and they do not finish up their homework. There are also some cases when the young children try to burn the midnight’s oil in order to finish up their homework but on the next day, they can’t give full of attention during class because they feel sleepy. It will negatively affect their study and their academic performance.

To sum up, everything that we do in our daily life have its own pros and cons. So, we need to be responsible to choose something that is the best for ourselves. We also need to manage our time wisely because we must govern the clock, not be governed by it.

DEATH NOTE...

5 February 2015

Death Note. It is a book that was dropped from the sky by the Shinigami. When someone wrote a name in that book, the person with that name will eventually die in 40 seconds due to heart attack. But, if you wrote the cause of the death that person will die according to your wish.

The three main character of this movie are:-

Yagami Light @ KIRA

Ryuk a shinigami

L

This movie started when Yagami Light on his way to go home after he went to the place where the criminal and gangster gathered. Suddenly, he found a black book on the road and he decided to pick it up. Before this he really believed that all the criminals should be punished through the law. But after he went to that place, he thought that they didn’t accept the punishment that they supposed to have.

When he reached home, he opened that mysterious book and there was an instruction on how to use it. At the same time, on the television there was news about the murder of a female high school student. So, he tried to write the name of that murderer and on the next morning when he read the newspaper he found that criminal was already died in the prison. After that, he began to use that ‘Death Note’ to kill all the criminals one by one under the nickname of KIRA.

The instruction on how to use the Death Note

Some people thought that he was a savior and there were also people thought that he was arrogance since all the crime needed be punished by a legal system. After a while, the police started to investigate about KIRA and they assumed that incident as a mass murder. So, in order to reveal the identity of KIRA they cooperated with L.

The ending of the movie unfortunately did not match with my first impression with this movie. Basically I thought that the world would become peaceful because the book was in the hand of someone that studied and believe in law. Therefore, in my first impression I thought that Yagami Light would use that book wisely in order to help the people and keep the world in peace.

Sadly, KIRA used that book cruelly. He not only killed the criminal but he also killed the innocents. For example, he killed the innocent FBI and his girlfriend. He killed his girlfriend also by using that Death Note. He specified her death by making it looked like she was murdered by the other person. He wrote that his girlfriend Shiori Akino would be killed by a firm person. Firstly, she was involved in hostage situation and she was forced to call his boyfriend. She tried to escape but suddenly there was a shot and she died when she tried to protect her boyfriend.

In my opinion, Yagami Light had turned into a cruel monster when he believed that the Death Note was so powerful and it could change the world and destiny. From this fantastic movie I learned that everything that we do in this world has its own limit.
