FACT #1 - FREDERICK DOUGLASS

hi guyss.. for this time, i would like to share some of the interesting fact that i had used in my sat essays as an evidence. even though my SAT examination had passed a long time ago but i still remember most of the information vividly. so, i think it will be more beneficial if i share it here since there will be more people know about them. hope you'll enjoy.. :D

let's go with the very first fact..

Frederick Douglass, an African-American social reformer, abolitionist and a writer. actually he was born as a slave. but he manage to free himself by learning to write and read. he learn all of that by himself secretly without his owner permission. After escaping from slavery, he become the leader of abolitionist. Besides, he also gain more supporters through his writing about antislavery. these are the list of his autobiographies:-

•   Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass
•   My Bondage and My Freedom 
•   Life and Times of Frederick Douglass

his autobiographies that described his experience as a slave became the bestseller and very influential in supporting abolition

besides, he really believe in equality of all people. there is no different between  black, female, Native American, or recent immigrant. he once said that "I would unite with anybody to do right and with nobody to do wrong." for me he have a really good sense of justice and humanity. Last but not least, he also stated that if we know how to read, we will be free. it has been proved when he managed to escape from slavery after he learn on how to read and write.
